The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $605 million for the drawing held late Monday, the largest prize offered by the multistate game so far in 2025 after 34 drawings passed without a grand-prize winner. Lottery officials said the winning numbers were 15-46-61-63-64 with a red Powerball of 1 and a 3-times Power Play. A ticket matching all six numbers would allow the holder to choose between a $273.4 million lump-sum payout or the full jackpot paid in 30 annual installments. As of late Monday, no winner had been confirmed. The odds of claiming the top prize remain daunting at roughly 1 in 292 million, yet sales have surged across the 45 states that offer Powerball tickets, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. While sizeable, Monday’s pot still trails the record $2.1 billion jackpot won in California in 2022 but ranks among the 20 largest Powerball prizes ever. U.S. lottery sales topped $100 billion in fiscal 2023, buoyed by headline-grabbing jackpots. If no one matches all six numbers, the jackpot will continue to grow ahead of the next drawing scheduled for 10:59 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
