Trader Joe’s has expanded its U.S. growth pipeline, adding 16 addresses to the “opening soon” section of its website since April and lifting the total number of forthcoming stores to roughly 30. The new batch will extend the grocer’s footprint to 18 states and Washington, D.C., according to the latest postings reviewed on 17 July. Locations recently disclosed include 1511 Cornerstone Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida; 9224 Reseda Boulevard in Northridge, California; 1165 Needham Street in Newton, Massachusetts; 258 City Circle in Peachtree City, Georgia; 2428 Napoleon Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana; and 12812 Shops Parkway in Bee Cave, Texas. Other sites are planned for Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah and Virginia, among others. The Monrovia, California-based chain now operates in 42 states but remains absent from Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Mississippi and West Virginia. Spokesperson Nakia Rohde said Trader Joe’s updates its store-openings page “almost every month,” underscoring a steady expansion strategy that has seen six of the locations announced earlier this year already open for business.
