Actor Edi Gathegi, who makes his DC Universe debut as Mister Terrific in James Gunn’s newly released film “Superman,” has confirmed he has signed a multi-project agreement with DC Studios to continue portraying the hyper-intelligent hero across multiple future titles. Gathegi told Variety that the movie’s credits-scene appearance by Mister Terrific feels like “a promise” of the character’s expanded role and said he wants to be “involved in this universe in a major way.” He added that forthcoming projects will allow audiences to “scratch the surface” of Michael Holt’s back-story and showcase the character’s brain-powered skill set. Financial terms and the exact number of installments were not disclosed, but the pact positions Gathegi alongside David Corenswet’s Superman and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane as recurring pillars of the studio’s rebooted franchise. DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has indicated that “Supergirl” is the next film on the slate, with broader crossover plans in development.

This is Superman. Not whatever feminine, weak garbage James Gunn just released. https://t.co/HsIkb1PVZO
James Gunn's take on Superman is wildly different than Zack Snyder's vision for the character, and Gunn's version is the one we need right now. https://t.co/vjWabf2rOI
