Over 13,000 Chilean Officials Visited Casinos on Medical Leave; Enjoy Renounces Coquimbo and Pucón Casinos, Viña del Mar Vote Postponed

The Chilean Comptroller General's Office (CGR) has revealed that over 13,000 public officials attended casinos while on medical leave. This disclosure follows a broader report indicating that more than 80,000 public employees hold multiple contracts with the state. The government has expressed concern over the misuse of medical licenses for casino visits, stating that public trust has been undermined. In response, the Health Secretary of La Araucanía announced that medical licenses of those who visited casinos will be rejected. Meanwhile, the Superintendence has approved the withdrawal of Enjoy from its casinos in Coquimbo and Pucón but has postponed the decision regarding the Viña del Mar casino due to uncertainties about the background information. The vote on Enjoy's renunciation of the Viña del Mar casino has been delayed three times.
