The 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival, themed "Singing for Peace," took place from July 9 to 18 across Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and Beijing. The event brought together nearly 30 youth choirs and over 1,000 participants from both China and the United States. The festival aimed to promote cultural exchange, friendship, and people-to-people connections between the two countries. Highlights included joint performances such as "Kuliang! Kuliang!" by the Yuying Choir of Fuzhou No.16 Middle School and the American One Voice Children's Choir, as well as the U.S. choir's rendition of the Chinese ballad "As Your Wish," which had previously resonated with millions in China. Activities extended beyond performances, with American and Chinese students engaging in traditional Chinese crafts and exchanging gifts like pens, notebooks, Chinese paintings, and jasmine tea. The festival was co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Fujian Provincial Government. It featured appearances by U.S. Arts Envoy Carla D. Canales and included events in Beijing’s Zhongshan Music Hall and the China National Opera House. The festival concluded with a closing performance emphasizing friendship and cultural harmony across the Pacific. The event was part of broader cultural exchange initiatives, including the 2025 Cross-Strait Youth Culture Month in Suzhou and international collaborations such as German and Italian choir performances celebrating cultural ties with China.
