The 12th edition of The World Games is set to take place in Chengdu, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, with the official 30-day countdown commencing on July 8. All 27 venues for the event, including nine temporary competition sites constructed in the lake park area, have been completed. The host city has launched a volunteer service program and unveiled materials for the Games' award ceremony. The event will showcase a variety of sports, including flying discs, dance sports, and lifesaving competitions, under the theme "SPORTS UNLIMITED," which emphasizes a blend of tradition and innovation. The Games have garnered support from notable figures such as AC Milan legend Massimo Ambrosini, who praised Chengdu as a city of pandas and hotpot and wished athletes success. Additionally, the promotional campaign for the Games features the song "Contigo," welcoming visitors worldwide. Separately, the 15th National Games in China will introduce drone football matches for the first time, alongside new activities like HADO dodgeball, as highlighted at the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo 2025.
