China has conducted multiple successful space missions in 2025, demonstrating its advancing capabilities in satellite deployment and space station logistics. On June 20, China launched the ChinaSat-9C communications satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit using a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province. This marked China's 35th orbital launch of the year. The 5.5-ton satellite, based on the DFH-4E platform, is designed to provide high-quality voice, data, radio, and television transmission services. Subsequently, on July 3, China launched the classified Shiyan-28B 01 test satellite aboard a Long March-4C rocket from the same facility. This satellite is intended for space environment exploration and related technology testing. On July 8, the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft undocked from the Tiangong space station and re-entered Earth's atmosphere in a controlled manner, with most components burning up and debris falling into designated safe waters. Preparing for continued space station resupply, China completed joint trial exercises for the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft launch. On July 15, the Tianzhou-9 was successfully launched atop a Long March-7 Y10 rocket from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Site in Hainan Province. The cargo spacecraft is tasked with delivering supplies to the Tiangong space station and features upgraded EVA (extravehicular activity) suits. The mission team reported that all systems were checked and ready for the launch, which included an anticipated rapid rendezvous and docking with the space station within three hours of liftoff.
