China and Malaysia have officially implemented a mutual visa-free travel agreement starting July 17, 2025. The agreement, announced by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allows holders of valid ordinary and public affairs passports from China, as well as ordinary passport holders from Malaysia, to enter, exit, or transit through the other country without a visa. Travelers can stay for up to 30 days per visit, with a maximum cumulative stay of 90 days within any 180-day period. The visa exemption applies primarily for tourism and leisure purposes, facilitating easier travel and transit between the two countries.
