A step closer to China's manned lunar mission! China just completed the lander ascent and descent verification test for Lan Yue lander on August 6 at the landing test site in Hebei Province. Lan Yue is a newly developed spacecraft designed for China's first manned lunar mission. https://t.co/stCduWfip7
Wow. China just completed a tethered takeoff and landing test of their crewed Lanyue lunar lander prototype. The country is pushing to land astronauts on the Moon’s surface before 2030, and this successful test was a huge step forward. The completion of this landing and ascent https://t.co/2MGWIIm0UP
China’s space programme cleared a major technical hurdle after the China Manned Space Agency said it had completed the first integrated landing-and-takeoff test of the Lanyue crewed lunar lander. The verification trial, carried out on 6 August at an extraterrestrial landing test site in Huailai County, Hebei Province, simulated the vehicle’s descent to the lunar surface and subsequent ascent. CMSA described the exercise as a critical milestone in the development of China’s first crewed lunar mission, targeted for before 2030. The successful demonstration validates key propulsion and control systems needed for a round-trip voyage, bringing the country a step closer to joining the United States in landing astronauts on the Moon.
