OpenAI’s ChatGPT business has reached an annualized revenue run-rate of roughly $12 billion, or about $1 billion a month, according to figures reported by The Information. The publication also said weekly active users of ChatGPT have climbed to around 700 million, underlining the rapid adoption of the generative-AI service since its launch in late 2022. Despite the surge in sales, OpenAI is projecting cash outflows of about $8 billion in 2025 as it invests heavily in computing infrastructure and model development, highlighting the hefty costs that underpin the expansion of large-scale artificial-intelligence platforms.
