The Denver Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on the evening of July 1, 2025, in the Montbello neighborhood near the 4300 block of North Del Rio Court. The incident began when officers were responding to reports of fireworks. During the encounter, police say a man pulled a gun and fled, prompting officers to fire dozens of shots. The man was shot multiple times and later died at a hospital. Body camera footage released on July 3 and 4 shows the extensive gunfire by Denver officers. No officers were injured in the incident. Separately, there have been other serious injury incidents reported in the Denver area, including a crash involving a motorist and a standup scooter driver near Broadway and Alameda, with one person hospitalized. Additional unrelated incidents include a motorcyclist struck by a pickup driver in Etobicoke, who later died, and a motorcyclist seriously injured in a crash in northwest Las Vegas.
