The Broward Sheriff's Office said a 25-year-old South Florida man accused of killing a store clerk at a Pompano Beach smoke shop in March was arrested in the Atlanta area last week. Deputies identified the suspect as Claurry Paul, who was taken into custody on 30 June by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit with assistance from Broward investigators. Paul faces a count of first-degree murder with a firearm in the March 30 shooting of 27-year-old Sayf Abdelaziz inside the Fire Up Smoke Shop on East Sample Road. Investigators say Paul entered the store shortly after midnight, approached the counter, shot Abdelaziz and fled on foot. A $60,000 reward had been offered for information leading to an arrest. Paul is being held in Georgia while authorities seek his extradition to Broward County.
