Newly released surveillance footage shows a store employee in St. Augustine, Florida, grappling with a man who tried to force her into a pickup truck after robbing the shop on 29 June. The woman broke free by screaming and fighting, drawing the attention of a passer-by who called 911, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor, had stolen the Toyota Tacoma in Jacksonville earlier that day and taken about $270 in cigarettes and vaping products from the store before attempting the abduction. The video, made public on 16 July, captures Tundidor dragging the victim through the doorway and into the parking lot before abandoning the kidnapping attempt and driving away. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers later spotted the truck on A1A and arrested Tundidor after a brief pursuit. He faces charges of kidnapping, robbery and grand theft auto from county authorities, along with fleeing, eluding and driving under the influence counts filed by state wildlife officers. The victim was not seriously injured, and law-enforcement officials credited her resistance and quick appeal for help with thwarting the attack.
