The United Nations has announced an informal five-party meeting on the Cyprus issue scheduled for mid-July 2025 in New York. The meeting will take place on July 16-17 and will bring together the rival leaders of ethnically divided Cyprus along with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. This follows a previous meeting that was described as having a "constructive atmosphere" aimed at reviving stalled peace talks on the island. Additionally, UN official Olga Algina is expected to visit Cyprus and will have meetings in Paris on the preceding Friday.
