Multiple national surveys released this week show broad public skepticism over the federal government’s disclosures in the Jeffrey Epstein case and low marks for President Donald Trump’s handling of the matter. A CNN/SSRS poll taken 13 July found just 3% of Americans satisfied with the information released, while half said they were dissatisfied. A separate YouGov survey conducted 14 July reported 67% believe federal authorities are covering up evidence, a view shared by 82% of Democrats, 69% of independents and 50% of Republicans. The most comprehensive snapshot came from a 15–16 July Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,027 adults that showed 69% think the Trump administration is hiding details about Epstein’s alleged client list; only 17% approve of the president’s handling of the issue. Republicans were divided, with 35% approving and 29% disapproving. Despite the backlash, Trump’s standing within his party remains strong. CNN and Quinnipiac tracking polls indicate Republican approval of the president has inched up to roughly 88–90%, suggesting that the Epstein controversy, while broadly unpopular, has yet to erode his core support.
