Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk told listeners of his podcast on Monday, 14 July, that he is "done talking about Epstein" and will leave further discussion of the late financier’s case to the Trump administration. "I’m going to trust my friends in the administration, I’m going to trust my friends in the government to do what needs to be done," he said. Kirk’s change of tone came a day after President Donald Trump phoned him to express support for Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has been criticised by conservative commentators for her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Over the weekend, speakers at Turning Point’s Student Action Summit in Florida had pressed the administration to release additional Epstein files and questioned Bondi’s earlier claim that she possessed a still-sealed "client list." In his remarks, Kirk singled out Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino as officials he trusts to resolve the matter, saying "the ball’s in their court." He added that extensive discussion at the summit meant the topic did not need to occupy further airtime on his programme. The administration is under renewed pressure after a 6 July Justice Department and FBI memo reiterated that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and stated that no client list exists—conclusions rejected by many of Trump’s supporters. Kirk’s decision to step back underscores the White House’s efforts to contain conservative anger over the case.
After speaking with my friends in government and also private island equity holdings I have decided that no one cares about Epstein anyway I mean, like who? Lol who's Epstein amirite?
Charlie Kirk: "Honestly, I'm done talking about Epstein for the time being. I'm gonna trust my friends in the administration. I'm gonna trust my friends in the government." 😂 https://t.co/OaHHpvc3RT
