Meanwhile, Moldova is actively seeking assurances for its own EU accession and is hosting the first EU-Moldova summit in Chisinau. The summit agenda includes Moldova's European integration path, regional security, and EU support amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. Moldovan leaders are pushing to accelerate EU membership talks to counter Russian influence ahead of upcoming legislative elections. Concurrently, pro-Russian factions in Moldova have announced plans to unite forces and negotiate the creation of an electoral bloc on the left flank.
