AgEagle Aerial Systems said its eBee TAC unmanned aircraft has been added to the Pentagon’s Blue UAS list, clearing the 3.5-pound fixed-wing drone for direct purchase by the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Blue UAS status confirms the platform meets the Defense Innovation Unit’s security and performance requirements under the National Defense Authorization Act. The hand-launched eBee TAC can fly for up to 90 minutes, operate in disconnected environments and transmit encrypted data for real-time tactical mapping and reconnaissance. The designation follows the drone’s earlier Green UAS clearance and aligns with Executive Order 14307 and a July memorandum from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth urging rapid fielding of affordable Group 1 and 2 systems. Chief Executive Officer Bill Irby said the certification “positions AgEagle to supply our military with equipment needed to counter modern battlefield threats,” opening a pathway to lucrative defense contracts.
