At the LandEuro 2025 defense exhibition, multiple advancements in drone and unmanned systems technology were showcased by various countries. The United States has developed the LUCAS (Low-Cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System), a kamikaze drone designed to rival and surpass the Iranian Shahed-136 loitering munition. The LUCAS drone is estimated to cost between $30,000 and $40,000 per unit and was recently presented to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. This development reflects a strategic focus on low-cost, effective unmanned attack systems in future warfare. Concurrently, Belgium is set to enhance its intelligence and strike capabilities with the introduction of its first MQ-9B SkyGuardian drone in August 2025, while its F-35 pilots have completed U.S. training to expand mission profiles beyond the F-16. Switzerland's Fotokite demonstrated a 45-meter tethered drone mounted on SUVs for continuous public safety surveillance. Canada conducted its first test of the Hammerhead kamikaze unmanned surface vehicle, assessing future uncrewed attack potential. Other notable drone technologies highlighted include Venator Technologies' AngryCat interceptor drone aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defense against Russian UAVs, Red Cat's Trichon drone which could transform U.S. Army ISR capabilities, and Xtend’s Honey Badger drone featuring artificial intelligence to autonomously navigate buildings and identify threats. Additionally, the U.S. Army is advancing missile technology with the Barracuda 100M missile, offering a tenfold range increase over the Hellfire missile for future operations. These developments underscore a broader trend toward integrating advanced unmanned systems and AI-driven technologies into modern military forces.

🇺🇸⚡The US has created a new kamikaze drone... surprisingly looks similar to the Iranian Shahed-136. The shahed/Geran-2 is $30k a piece, I bet this one goes for $500k. Hahaha, I guess that's why you spend a trillion on defense. https://t.co/x13mH2RwuI
