The construction of the A69 highway in France has resumed despite opposition protests and a ban on demonstrations. Laurent Buchaillat, the prefect of Tarn, has stated that no new unauthorized protest zones (ZAD) will be allowed to form in relation to the project. Philippe Tabarot, the French Minister of Transport, has emphasized that the A69 is a public and national interest project and affirmed his commitment to seeing it through to completion. He also highlighted the extensive public transport network around Paris currently being finalized and noted expectations of a challenging situation ahead due to the opposition. Environmental activist Cyril Dion criticized Tabarot for allegedly pressuring the Court of Appeal to allow the resumption of work on the highway.
