In response to a heatwave and elevated ozone pollution levels, authorities in Île-de-France have implemented differentiated traffic restrictions starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Only the least polluting vehicles are permitted to circulate within the perimeter of the A86 ring road. This measure aims to reduce pollution and manage the impact of the heatwave on the region. Additionally, Île-de-France Mobilités introduced an "antipollution" fare starting Monday to support these efforts. Separately, ahead of the final stage of the Tour de France in Paris, the prefect of police announced that approximately 3,000 internal security forces will be deployed. The prefect also warned that traffic will be blocked well in advance along the Montmartre route, where tens of thousands of spectators are expected.
