Olympique de Marseille (OM) has secured the acquisition of Argentine defender Facundo Medina from RC Lens. The deal, initially reported as a €22 million transfer fee, was finalized as a one-year loan with an option to buy. Medina, 26, arrived in Marseille in early July 2025 and expressed strong ambition, stating his desire to win titles with the club. He becomes OM's third signing of the summer transfer window following free transfers of CJ Egan-Riley and Angel Gomes, the latter joining on a three-year deal after leaving Lille. Additionally, OM has made a €28 million bid for Brazilian winger Igor Paixão from Feyenoord Rotterdam. Feyenoord has yet to accept the offer, demanding at least €30 million for the player, with reports indicating the Dutch club seeks a record sale of around €40 million. Paixão is reportedly keen to join Marseille, and the club has proposed a loan with an obligatory purchase option of €24 million. Negotiations between Marseille and Feyenoord are ongoing, with interest from other clubs including Bayer Leverkusen and some Premier League teams.
