The Tour de France resumed on 16 July with a 156.8-kilometre loop that both starts and finishes in Toulouse, marking the 11th stage of the 2025 edition. All 172 remaining riders rolled out after the race’s first rest day, with the peloton led by new overall leader Ben Healy, who donned the yellow jersey for the first time. Race director Christian Prudhomme described the largely flat stage as a designed test for puncheurs rather than pure sprinters. Five categorised climbs punctuate the route, the most decisive being the côte de Pech David inside the final 10 kilometres, where gradients reach 20 percent. Teams are expected to favour versatile riders capable of surviving the sharp ascent before a likely reduced-group sprint in the Ville Rose. Wednesday’s stage sets up three forthcoming mountain days in the Pyrenees, beginning with Thursday’s high-altitude finish from Auch to Hautacam. Healy and his EF Education-EasyPost squad will aim to defend a slim lead over established contenders such as Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard as the Tour heads into its decisive second week.
