Tadej Pogacar seized control of the Tour de France by winning the first Pyrenean summit finish at Hautacam and reclaiming the yellow jersey from Ben Healy. The UAE Emirates rider attacked 12 kilometres from the top of the final climb on the 180.6-kilometre stage from Auch, crossing the line in 4 hours 21 minutes 19 seconds. The Slovenian finished 2 minutes 10 seconds ahead of Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard, with Germany’s Florian Lipowitz third at 2 minutes 23 seconds. It is Pogacar’s third stage victory of this year’s race and the 20th of his career on the Grande Boucle. The 26-year-old now leads the general classification by 3 minutes 31 seconds over Vingegaard and 4 minutes 45 seconds over Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel. Healy cracked on the Col du Soulor and slipped out of the top ten. The peloton faces a pivotal individual time trial from Loudenvielle to Peyragudes on Friday.
