World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler captured the BMW Championship on Sunday, erasing a four-shot overnight deficit to Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre and finishing at 15-under-par 265 for a two-stroke victory at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland. The win, worth roughly $3.6 million, is the second leg of the FedExCup Playoffs and Scheffler’s 18th PGA Tour title. Scheffler set the tone with a birdie on the opening hole while MacIntyre bogeyed. The pair were level by the fifth and the American moved in front with another birdie at No. 7. His decisive moment came at the par-3 17th, where he holed an 82-foot chip from thick rough for birdie to restore a two-shot cushion. Scheffler closed with a three-under 67; MacIntyre, who had led after each of the first three rounds, stumbled to a 73. The victory is Scheffler’s fifth of the 2025 season, making him the first player since Tiger Woods in 2005–06 with back-to-back campaigns of five or more wins. It also extends his streak of top-eight finishes to 13 events. He did so without regular caddie Ted Scott, absent for family reasons; Chris Kirk’s caddie Mike Cromie carried the bag for the week. Scheffler’s triumph cements his position atop the FedExCup standings heading into the 30-man Tour Championship at East Lake on 21 August. The BMW result also locked in the six automatic U.S. Ryder Cup spots: Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau.
