Mondelez Global LLC has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of four carton sizes of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches after discovering a labeling error that could endanger people with peanut allergies, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on 9 July. The recall covers 8-, 20- and 40-pack cartons of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches and the 20-pack Ritz Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Pack. While the outer cartons correctly warn that the product contains peanuts, some individually wrapped packs are mistakenly labeled as the cheese variety even though they contain peanut butter. Affected products bear “Best When Used By” dates of 1–9 Nov 2025 and 2–22 Jan 2026 and the following UPC codes: 0 44000 88210 5, 0 44000 07584 2, 0 44000 07819 5 and 0 44000 08095 2. Mondelez traced the problem to a supplier defect in film rolls used to package the single-serve packs and said corrective actions are under way. No illnesses or injuries have been reported. Consumers who have a peanut allergy are urged not to eat the product and to discard it. Further information is available from Mondelez at 1-844-366-1171, which is staffed around the clock, with specialists on duty Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
