The San Jose Sharks have signed forward William Eklund to a three-year contract extension worth $16.8 million, the team announced Tuesday. The deal carries a $5.6 million average annual value and will take effect with the 2026-27 season, keeping the 22-year-old under club control as a restricted free agent when it expires. Eklund posted career highs last season with 17 goals and 41 assists for 58 points, finishing second on the Sharks behind Macklin Celebrini. Selected seventh overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Stockholm-born winger has accumulated 110 points in 174 NHL games.
