Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old Indian cricketer, has set a new record by scoring the fastest century in Youth One Day Internationals (ODIs). He achieved this milestone by hitting a century off just 52 balls during the fourth Youth ODI match against England Under-19s held at New Road, Worcester. In this innings, Suryavanshi scored 143 runs off 78 balls, including 13 fours and 10 sixes, showcasing an explosive batting performance. His innings helped India Under-19s post a commanding total of 363/9 in 50 overs. This performance contributed to India securing a 2-1 lead in the five-match Youth ODI series against England. Suryavanshi’s record-breaking century is recognized as the fastest known hundred in Youth ODIs, and he has drawn inspiration from Indian cricketer Shubman Gill. Earlier in the year, Suryavanshi also became the youngest centurion in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). The Indian Under-19 team, led by 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre on this tour, defeated England by 55 runs to clinch the series. Suryavanshi expressed ambitions to score a double century in Youth ODIs, indicating his rising prominence in youth cricket.
