Abhishek Banerjee, Member of Parliament from Diamond Harbour and a leader of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), launched the book 'Nishobdo Biplab 2025' at Satgachhia, Diamond Harbour. The publication documents the developmental progress of Diamond Harbour over the past 11 years, highlighting the use of the ₹5 crore MPLADS fund and other government initiatives under the West Bengal government. The event was marked by strong public support and emphasized the region's transformation into a model of development and accountability. Meanwhile, Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal State Assembly and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, addressed a press conference in Kolkata criticizing the Mamata Banerjee government. Adhikari alleged government patronage of the Muharram procession and presented evidence of alleged inappropriate activities. He also accused the ruling party of fostering a 'bhaipo gang' (nephew gang) involved in running syndicates in colleges and universities, with female students reportedly facing harassment. Adhikari further claimed ongoing vandalism of Hindu homes and shops in Malda and condemned attacks during Muharram processions. The BJP leader's remarks sparked responses from the Trinamool Congress, which dismissed the allegations as isolated incidents that should not be generalized.
