The BJP, led by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, criticized the university's question paper for labeling freedom fighters as 'terrorists' and revolutionaries as 'militants,' accusing the TMC government of undermining the future of 500,000 students. BJP members protested outside Vidyasagar University in Midnapore. Suvendu Adhikari also issued a strong warning against Rohingya Muslims residing in India and advised Bengalis not to visit Muslim-majority areas in Kashmir, instead suggesting destinations like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
