Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, featuring four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Pro models are expected to see a price increase, with the iPhone 17 Pro starting at $1,049, breaking Apple's long-standing $999 entry price for Pro models. This price hike is attributed in part to tariffs, but will be accompanied by doubled base storage across all models, with the iPhone 17 Pro offering 256GB as standard. The iPhone 17 Pro will also introduce design changes such as an aluminum unibody frame with a glass cutout for MagSafe, new dark blue and copper finishes, and a repositioned antenna system around the camera module inspired by the Apple Watch Ultra to improve 5G and Wi-Fi performance. Camera upgrades include a 48MP variable telephoto lens with 5x-8x optical zoom and a 24MP front-facing camera. The new series is described as the slimmest iPhone ever. Pre-orders are expected to begin on September 12, with in-store availability starting September 19. In India, the iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to launch around September 9 or 10, with a starting price of Rs. 1,45,990. Ahead of the launch, Apple has started reducing prices on previous iPhone 16 Pro models. Additional rumors suggest potential integration of GPT-5 technology and further improvements in hardware and antenna design.
