Apple has reportedly overcome production bottlenecks on a new nano-textured cover glass that is both anti-reflective and more scratch-resistant, clearing the way for the material to debut on the forthcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, according to a MacRumors report corroborated by multiple technology outlets on 16–17 July. The coating, already offered as an option on select MacBook and Studio Display models, disperses light to curb glare and improve outdoor readability. Industry sources say Apple’s suppliers have now reached acceptable manufacturing yields after earlier attempts were abandoned this spring because the process slowed assembly lines. The technology is likened to Samsung’s Gorilla Glass Armor, which the Korean company claims trims reflections by up to 75 percent. Apple is expected to reserve the upgraded glass for its two Pro-tier handsets, leaving the standard iPhone 17 and a lower-priced iPhone 17 Air with the existing Ceramic Shield. The Cupertino-based company traditionally unveils its new iPhone range in September and has not commented on the latest reports.
✨ https://t.co/e9iDvgXXNJ
