During his visit to India from August 11 to 14, 2025, Australian Army Chief Lieutenant General Simon Stuart was briefed on Operation Sindoor and welcomed with a Guard of Honour at South Block Lawns in Delhi. He laid a wreath at the National War Memorial and engaged in discussions with Indian military leaders, including Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. Stuart and Dwivedi, who trained together at the United States Army War College in 2015, focused on strengthening India-Australia defense cooperation across all domains and reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two countries. Key agreements were signed during the visit, including those on intelligence sharing and increasing the complexity of joint military exercises. Both nations plan to conduct joint training initiatives in the Pacific region. This visit follows recent defense engagements, such as the air-to-air refueling agreement signed last year. Separately, Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov of Kazakhstan met with General Upendra Dwivedi to discuss defense matters. Additionally, the Cuba-India association is concentrating on sharing expertise in secure document storage and public service modernization.
