RAF Hosts 2025 Global Air & Space Chiefs Conference Featuring Sir Richard Knighton, Gen David Allvin, and NATO-First Defence Policy

The 2025 RAF Global Air & Space Chiefs Conference convened over two days, bringing together more than 60 air and space chiefs from around the world to discuss strategic air and space power issues. The conference featured keynote addresses from key military leaders, including Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, the current Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) and incoming UK Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force. Topics covered included establishing control and building resilience in space, autonomy and sixth-generation air power, and countering emerging threats. Defence Minister Luke Pollard emphasized the UK's NATO-first defence policy following the recent Strategic Defence Review (SDR) and called for greater integration and innovation among allies, partners, and industry. The conference underscored the evolving nature of air power, with a focus on speed, reach, and altitude, now amplified by new technologies and strategic challenges. The event concluded with reflections from retired Air Marshal Greg Bagwell, President of the Air & Space Power Association, and Sir Richard Knighton.
