Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, pilot of the Axiom-4 Space Mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and a native of Lucknow, was honored at a felicitation ceremony in Delhi alongside his fellow Indian Air Force test pilots Group Captain P V Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, and Group Captain Angad Pratap. The event was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff, who praised the pilots' temperament and dedication during their training. Rajnath Singh highlighted Shukla's devotion to Bajrang Bali and noted that he recited the Hanuman Chalisa while in space. Shukla shared a video clip captured from space showing Earth and atmospheric phenomena, emphasizing the beauty of India from orbit. The Indian Navy recently recovered the Gaganyaan capsule off Sriharikota and handed it over to ISRO at Chennai port. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya welcomed Shukla back to his hometown, expressing pride in his achievement as the first person from Lucknow to travel to space.
