Brazil Eyes India's Akash Air Defence, Coastal Radars, Garuda Guns, Secure Systems, Scorpene Submarine MRO, and Joint Defense Manufacturing

Brazil has expressed interest in acquiring several Indian defense technologies and systems, including the Akash air defence system, coastal radars, Garuda artillery guns, secure communication systems, and Scorpene submarine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. The interest was confirmed by P. Kumaran, Secretary East at India's Ministry of External Affairs, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Brazil. Additionally, Brazil is seeking joint defense manufacturing and collaboration with India, as well as cooperation in offshore patrol vessels and joint research and technology sharing. These developments highlight growing defense ties between Brazil and India within the context of the upcoming BRICS 2025 summit.
