Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a felicitation ceremony at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar to honor 4,876 newly elected sarpanches and 600 women members of Gram Panchayats. The event also recognized 56 Women Samras Gram Panchayats declared in the recent elections. During the ceremony, Patel praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, highlighting the country's progress towards self-reliance and rural development under his vision. Patel announced the allocation of over ₹35 crore in grants for 761 Samras Gram Panchayats and a total of ₹1,236 crore dedicated to rural development initiatives. The village of Kaniyal was acknowledged as the 'Best Child-Friendly Village' for achieving 100 percent vaccination coverage and setting a model for others.
