Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed events in Jaipur on July 17, 2025, highlighting the importance of cooperative societies and the government's achievements. Rajasthan has around 41,000 cooperative societies, with over 8.5 lakh cooperative societies empowering people at the village level, providing short-term loans, seeds, and other support. The year 2025 has been declared the International Year of Cooperatives, and a state-level Cooperation and Employment Utsav was organized. Shah emphasized that the next 100 years belong to cooperatives, with an independent ministry established to reach every village and farmer. He praised the Rajasthan government for addressing issues like paper leaks through a Special Investigation Team and noted that MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore were signed during the Rajasthan Global Investors' Summit. Shah also highlighted the Modi government's efforts over the past 11 years, including providing houses, toilets, gas, electricity, and free ration to 60 crore people, and securing the country against terror attacks, contrasting it with the previous Congress rule. Additionally, 100 new police vehicles were flagged off in Jaipur to support law enforcement and training. Amit Shah reiterated a strong message to the world that no one should betray India's citizens, borders, or army without facing consequences. The events coincided with the birth anniversary of Param Vir Chakra awardee Nirmal Singh Sekhon, recognized for his bravery and sacrifice.
