The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India, in coordination with multiple agencies, successfully dismantled a global drug cartel operating across more than 10 countries and four continents. The operation, hailed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, resulted in eight arrests and the seizure of five consignments. The crackdown also triggered coordinated actions in the United States and Australia against the international drug ring. Concurrently, Greek authorities, referred to as the "Greek FBI," conducted significant operations targeting cocaine smuggling networks in Athens and its suburbs. These operations led to multiple arrests, including five suspected Turkish mafia members, and the discovery of cocaine embedded in animal hides processed through a chemical method. Greek police estimate that the cartel could have produced over 800 kilograms of pure cocaine. The Greek police also seized weapons, ammunition, and 13 ancient coins during these actions. These coordinated law enforcement efforts highlight ongoing international cooperation to combat transnational drug trafficking.
