The Monsoon Session of the Indian Parliament in 2025 has been scheduled to run from July 21 to August 21, extending a week longer than initially planned. The session was officially approved by President Droupadi Murmu following a government proposal. In preparation, the central government convened all-party meetings on July 19 and July 20 to seek cooperation for the smooth functioning of both Houses. No parliamentary sittings will be held on August 13 and 14 in observance of Independence Day celebrations. The agenda for the session includes the introduction and passage of 15 bills, comprising eight new bills and seven pending ones. Notable among these is the Anti-Doping Amendment Bill and a bill on Sports Governance Reform. The session is expected to feature intense debates, particularly on issues such as the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and remarks related to former U.S. President Donald Trump. Key political figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi are scheduled to participate in these discussions. The government has emphasized the importance of cooperation among political parties to ensure the session's effective conduct amid a politically charged environment.
