Supporters of Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural organisation led by Bharat Rashtra Samithi politician K. Kavitha, stormed the Hyderabad office of state lawmaker and journalist Teenmar Mallanna on Sunday after he allegedly made disparaging remarks about Kavitha. Videos from the scene showed shattered furniture, splattered blood and Mallanna’s bodyguard firing shots into the air to disperse the crowd. Police said an inquiry is under way into the assault and the gunfire; details on injuries have not been released.
