Indian drone startup Raphe mPhibr, based in Noida, has raised $100 million in a Series B funding round led by Silicon Valley-based General Catalyst. This funding round marks the largest private capital raise in India's aerospace manufacturing and defense drone sectors. Raphe mPhibr has developed nine unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms and sold over 300 drones, primarily to the Indian military, with sales totaling around $10 million last year. The drones have payload capacities ranging from 2 to 200 kilograms and operational ranges between 20 and 200 kilometers. The funding will be used to expand indigenous aircraft design, research and development, and manufacturing capabilities. This capital infusion comes amid rising demand for military UAVs following recent conflicts with Pakistan, which has led India to triple its drone spending to nearly $500 million. In parallel, the Indian government announced a $234 million incentive program aimed at boosting domestic civil and military drone production and reducing dependence on imported components, particularly to counter Pakistan's drone program supported by China and Turkey.
