Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an eight-day official visit from July 2 to July 9, 2025, covering five countries: Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. This tour marked Modi's first-ever bilateral visit to Ghana, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in three decades. During the visit, Modi engaged with heads of state to strengthen bilateral relations and participated in the 17th BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He also made a historic address to the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago. Modi concluded the tour in Namibia before returning to New Delhi. Following this, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced Modi's upcoming visits to the United Kingdom from July 23 to 24 and the Maldives from July 25 to 26, 2025. The Maldives visit is particularly notable as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India. The visit will include the inauguration of joint projects and the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding.
