India's vice-captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant sustained an injury to his left index finger during the opening day of the third Test match against England at Lord's on July 10, 2025. Following the injury, Pant left the field and was replaced behind the stumps by Dhruv Jurel, who took over wicketkeeping duties. Pant has been receiving treatment and remains under the supervision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team. As of Day 2 and continuing through Day 4 of the Test, Pant has not resumed wicketkeeping, with Jurel continuing in his role. Despite the injury, Pant has been seen batting in the nets but has not returned to the field for wicketkeeping. The BCCI continues to monitor his recovery closely.
