The arbitration case involves allegations including NDA breaches and issues related to Russian coal, with Tata Power currently reviewing the verdict and considering a challenge. Meanwhile, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), the company’s renewable arm, commissioned 752 MW of solar projects in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, representing a 112% increase compared to the same period last year. TPREL plans to commission a total of 1.7 GW of utility-owned capacity during FY26 and aims to reach 7.3 GW of total operational capacity by the end of the fiscal year. In other developments, Tata is reportedly in talks to buy out other shareholders in Resurgent Power. Separately, IL&FS has moved the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to cancel Brookfield’s bid for its Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) headquarters, intensifying a legal battle over prime real estate.
