Tesla opened its first showroom in the National Capital Region on Monday, unveiling a new retail and experience centre in the Worldmark 3 complex at Aerocity, near Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. The 2 p.m. inauguration marks the company’s second outlet in India less than two months after its Mumbai debut, underscoring the U.S. electric-vehicle maker’s quickening push into the world’s third-largest auto market. The Delhi store showcases Tesla’s Model Y, offered in Pearl White, Quicksilver and Ultra Red finishes and priced from ₹59.89 lakh (about US$72,000). Tesla representatives said the site will provide sales, test drives and service appointments, and the company plans to expand its fast-charging network in other major Indian cities to support expected demand. Tesla’s first Indian showroom opened on 15 June at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. By adding a presence in the capital, the automaker gains exposure to two of India’s most affluent metropolitan regions as it gauges local appetite for premium electric vehicles ahead of any potential manufacturing or broader rollout in the country.
