Tesla Launches Bay Area Ride-Hailing With FSD, Model Y Taxis in NYC, and Supercharger Voting in South Korea
Tesla has initiated the rollout of its ride-hailing service in the Bay Area, sending invitations to users overseas to experience the new offering. The service leverages Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, which has demonstrated the capability to complete long-distance trips autonomously, such as a 5.5-hour journey from Los Angeles to Silicon Valley without human intervention. Users have reported traveling between cities like LA and Austin in Tesla vehicles equipped with FSD, highlighting the technology's advanced autonomous driving performance. Additionally, Tesla Model Y vehicles have begun operating as taxis in New York City, signaling the company's move towards robotaxi services. Tesla continues to engage its global user base, including markets like South Korea, where there is demand for FSD and expanded Supercharger infrastructure. The company has also reopened voting for new Supercharger locations in South Korea, encouraging community participation to increase charging availability in regions such as Yangju, Siheung, Yesan, Tongyeong, and Geoje.
