Yonatan Urich, an aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is facing a potential indictment for allegedly leaking highly classified Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) intelligence. The leaks reportedly aimed to influence public opinion and obstruct discourse following the August 2024 hostage killings during Israel's war in Gaza. Israel's Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, stated that Urich and another aide extracted secret military information and leaked it to the German newspaper Bild. Law enforcement agencies, including police and the Shin Bet security service, conducted early morning raids resulting in the detention of several individuals close to Netanyahu. The indictment is pending a hearing and charges include endangering state security. Netanyahu has publicly criticized the impending indictment against his aide.
