Japan said early Wednesday that an offshore earthquake near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, which prompted a tsunami warning for parts of the archipelago, caused no injuries or property damage in the country. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi told reporters that officials have found no irregularities at any of Japan’s nuclear power facilities and that critical infrastructure is operating normally. Authorities will continue to monitor coastal areas and seismic activity, he added.
