OpenAI Japan's CEO, Tadao Nagasaki, has announced the upcoming release of a next-generation AI model called 'GPT Next,' which is expected to be 100 times more powerful than its predecessor, GPT-4. This revelation was made at the KDDI Summit 2024 held at the Toranomon Hills Forum in Tokyo. The new model, GPT Next, will be released by the end of 2024 and is anticipated to significantly advance AI capabilities. Nagasaki emphasized that AI technology grows exponentially, unlike traditional software, and this new model will utilize a more efficient architecture and advanced learning methods. Additionally, GPT Next will be multimodal, capable of processing text and other forms of data. The model's effective computational load will be 100 times greater, achieving an Orders of Magnitude leap. It is expected to be trained using a miniature version of Strawberry.
